WOW WOW WOW!!!

To some Second Life is just a game, but to me it’s truly a community. It was so heartwarming to know that so many residents care for individuals with Down syndrome. When I booked some of the live performers I had no idea they had family members with Down syndrome…it shows you how common this condition is.

Despite all the technical difficulties we still beat our goal!!! We raised over $156,000L! (over $600US) in one day!!

I would like to thank all the performers Sojurn Rossini, Edward Kyomoon, Sylar Morrisey, Maximillion Kleene, Mack Humbridge, DJ ETC, DJ Splash, Guitar Zane and a thanks to Totonaco for helping arrange the schedule

Your performance means alot to the many individuals with Down syndrome. You not only raised funds but you also gave awareness to the 300+ people in attendance this day.

Unfortunately due to some log-in issues Skye Galaxy wasn’t able to make it, but we are rescheduling his show so stay tuned for that date!

The Garden and donation kiosks are still up so if you couldn’t make it yesterday, just stop by anytime!

Less than 24 hour to go for the 2011 Buddy Walk!

We had a few schedule changes but it still an awesome line up!! Hope to see everyone there!

WOW what a day~!!!

I can’t thank everyone enough for all their help and donations for the walk!

We raised $125,510L, twice the amount from last year!! And that was just in world, I think a few of you went and donated right at buddywalk.org

We also had almost 200 avatars show up in support.

I thought that doing a Second Life Buddy Walk would be a completely different experience than a real life one. But it’s really not, it was great meeting others who where parents, aunts, uncles, siblings of someone with Down syndrome. What is different is that there were many there that didn’t know much about Down syndrome, the Buddy Walk or NDSS. I know a few of my friends learned a few facts after taking the walk in the garden and that was so great to hear! Awareness is a big part of the walk.

The venue will stay up for a few weeks so please feel free to stop by and still do the walk if you weren’t able to yesterday. Donations will also still be accepted.

Just over Half way through

We are just about half way through and I can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and playing and DJing and supporting the SL Buddy Walk.

We have just 3 acts left but there is still time to come out and support this great cause!

Mack Humbridge will be playing from 3-4p

Mack’s Bio – Mack Humbridge comes to us from the Central USA using several different guitars both acoustic and electric to perform a live blend of classic, modern and bluesy rock.  Mack performs instrumentals that sing to your soul.  His own originals are energizing, uplifiting and amazingly well written.  Mack’s shows are full of guitar rock that will get your feet tapping, your body moving and your blood pumping.
